As I was preparing to head home, a distress call shattered the tranquility of my evening. The urgent message spoke of a dog named Dolunay, teetering on the brink of death. Abandoned near an apartment complex, he bore the scars of neglect – emaciated, filthy, and with a wounded leg. Rushing him to Dr. Murat Hodja in Sarköy was our only hope.

The sight that greeted us at the clinic was heart-wrenching. Dolunay lay in agony, his frail body ravaged by injuries we hadn’t anticipated. His swollen foot hinted at a possible hernia, while the bruises on his stomach spoke of the brutality he endured. But despite our efforts, Dolunay’s condition deteriorated. The worms continued their relentless assault, and his fragile body succumbed to their onslaught. In his final moments, he gazed at us with gratitude, his last smile a poignant farewell.
