He was abandoned twice for his beard, then a new owner made him a star dog

The internet is a melting pot of stories, and sometimes, the most heartwarming ones come from the most unexpected places. This is the case of Bacon, a dog whose unconventional appearance led to two abandonments but ultimately landed him in the loving arms of his forever home.

Bacon – The dog steals hearts with his unique look

Bacon’s story begins with a quest for companionship. Vietnamese news site YAN first introduced him to the world in July 2024. Evio, searching for a furry friend online, stumbled upon Bacon’s picture and felt an instant connection. Unlike others who shied away from Bacon’s unique features – thick white hair forming a prominent “chin beard” and a similar patch below his muzzle – Evio found it endearing. Perhaps, it was a case of like recognizing like, as Evio himself proudly sported a thick, manly beard.

Twice abandoned and never forgotten

Bacon’s prior life hadn’t been as fortunate. His unusual appearance had resulted in him being surrendered to shelters twice. Confined to a lonely existence, he spent his days watching his fellow shelter dogs find loving homes while he remained behind. This must have been a heartbreaking experience for the affectionate pup.

From shelter sadness to internet sensation

Evio’s unconditional acceptance marked a turning point in Bacon’s life. He adopted Bacon, vowing to shower him with love and care. He even began paying extra attention to his own beard, playfully acknowledging the subtle connection it might have had with his new furry friend. The duo started documenting their adventures through pictures, sharing them online.

Little did they know, the internet would fall head over heels for Bacon’s quirky charm. His thick “mustache” and playful personality resonated with online users, sparking a wave of adoration. Bacon’s story quickly went viral, garnering over 650,000 hearts and heartwarming comments.
