In June, a stray cat named Twinkle was found wandering the streets of Miami. The kind folks at True and Faithful Pet Rescue Mission took her in and provided her with all the care and attention she needed. Despite being underweight and having unhealthy teeth, Twinkle quickly recovered and gained weight with the help of the rescue team.
According to Lisa Letson, the president and founder of True and Faithful Pet Rescue Mission, Twinkle spent a few weeks recuperating after surgery and emerged as a charming and adorable cat. The good news is that Twinkle has found her forever home with a loving family who gave her a warm welcome in early September.
During the holiday season, the rescue organization received an electronic mail from the adoptive family of Twinkle, expressing their desire to return the dog just after four months of having her. According to the family, Twinkle made loud noises throughout the entire night as she wanted to snuggle in bed with them. Despite having other Chihuahuas who didn’t sleep on the bed, they concluded that Twinkle was not compatible with their lifestyle and gave her back to the rescue group.
According to Madison Mulvihill, the social media coordinator for True and Faithful Pet Rescue, Twinkle was devastated and confused when she arrived at the shelter. Mulvihill remembers finding the poor dog sitting alone in a corner, shaking with fear and sadness. Twinkle seemed to be searching for answers as to why she had been abandoned. Her previous owners had simply handed her over the fence and disappeared without explanation. Looking back at the fence, Twinkle’s eyes reflected the pain of not knowing why she had been left behind.
Twinkle yearned to snuggle with her loved ones overnight, but unfortunately, circumstances prevented it from happening, leaving her crestfallen. The rescue team empathized with her painful situation, as they had grown fond of her since day one and could not comprehend how someone could abandon such a precious and sweet being.
Mulvihill spoke highly of Twinkle, praising her adorable appearance and vibrant personality despite her small size of only three and a half pounds. According to Mulvihill, Twinkle has a strong desire for attention and is not afraid to approach humans in search of affection. She also exhibits the cutest little hops as she walks on the grass at the ranch. Additionally, Twinkle is a snuggly companion who is well-behaved on a leash and interacts well with other dogs. Whenever she wants to be scratched or petted, she will gently paw at your hand.
Twinkle’s friends took to TikTok to share her story of returning to the rescue in hopes of finding someone who could relate. The internet quickly fell in love with her and the rescue was flooded with adoption inquiries. After much searching, Twinkle has found her forever home with a family that has six other dogs and a big bed for her to sleep in. She will finally be able to experience genuine love and be accepted for who she is. Twinkle just wants to give and receive love, and she can finally do so with her new family.
