His heart broke into a million pieces…
Some dogs’ stories will make you tear your heart out, and Tyson is surely one of them!
When I first heard this tough, elderly boi’s story, I couldn’t stop thinking about it for hours. This New York City boi was discovered in an apartment adjacent to his deceased owner, and he had been there for around five days, according to his rescuers.
I couldn’t stop wondering how he was doing. Was he scared? How long did it take him to realise he was no longer alone in this world?
Tyson had no idea what was going on, but he could tell something wasn’t right. And when the time arrived for this boi to step out and leave his house, his heart shattered into a million pieces…
Tyson was without a doubt one of the most dejected and heartbroken doggos I’d ever seen. When Twenty Paws Rescue from Brooklyn, New York arrived to pick him up, he actually climbed into his crate and refused to come out.
He was so terrified and alone that he didn’t have the strength to get out. But these seasoned rescuers know that the only thing that can mend a wounded heart is time!
They waited long enough for Tyson to realise they weren’t going to harm him. He eventually agreed to let them take him out of his long-time home.
Tyson must have been in a lot of pain as he watched his owner slip away. He was found to have anaemia and, regrettably, a broken heart. He refused to eat or interact with other dogs, and he spent the entire time in his crate.
Laura was the person who could comprehend this devastated dog’s pain!
Tyson’s foster mum was found by the TPR team! Laura, a long-time volunteer and huge dog lover, did everything she could to put this large boi at ease. And, after a few days, it appeared that she had made significant progress!
Tyson began eating properly thanks to her compassionate approach and just the appropriate amount of love and patience. He even kissed his new momma gently and embraced her virtually constantly.
Tyson eventually started going out and playing with other dogs. This senior canine gradually came out of his shell, indicating that he was now ready to place his trust in another hooman.
The TPR team attempted to contact Tyson’s owner’s family, but no one seemed to be able to adopt this lovely boi.
But suddenly a woman named Sarah appeared! This kind-hearted animal enthusiast contacted TPR and provided Tyson a lifelong home, which turned out to be the best idea ever!
Tyson fell in love with her the instant she stepped foot into the facility!
“He’s just been through so much, and you always hope for the best for them.” But when they first connect like this, it’s just a great experience,” Rachel, one of the volunteers, explains.
He literally melted into Sarah’s arms, greeting her with open paws and heart!
“I’m going to miss him terribly.” But it’s so nice. “It just makes me happy to see him happy,” Laura explains.
It was really emotional and tear-jerking to see Tyson discover “the one” after so much pain. Rachel and Laura were so happy to see this magnificent puppy get his forever home that they burst into tears.
“I’m excited to welcome him into my life and just watch him become more at ease and realise that, you know, this is my last stop.” “This is where I live now, and this is where I call home,” Sarah adds.
Tyson has finally picked up where he left off and embarked on a lovely journey with his new momma after all these time.
