This story is about a two year old Shih Tzu named Gizmo who is absolutely loved by Mandy Garner’s family.
In fact, Gizmo is a pretty essential part of Mandy’s life because he’s her service animal. One day inside her home in Baytown, Texas, Mandy let Gizmo out to relieve herself like she always does.
It was a daily job but something unexpected happened that day. She says she went home to finish her work but when she went out to get the Gizmo he was just shaking and something was wrong with his face!
So, Mandy directly picked up her playful dog and took him straight to a nearby vet for a checkup. However, a variety of tests have been run to find out what happened with Gizmo.
Unfortunately, the vet found that there were several chemical burns on Gizmo’s face. He stayed in the hospital for a week for treatment. Unfortunately, his position was so bad that his eyes had to be removed due to burns.
So, Mandy decides to call the authorities to investigate. To make matters worse, no one from the Baytown Police Department did anything since they said she doesn’t live within the city limits of Baytown, so there were no charges for animal cruelty.
She also said that she called the Houston SPCA but knew no one would do anything. Finally, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office says they are investigating the case, according to PEOPLE Pets. We all hope that Gizmo will be fully healed again, and that the people responsible receive the punishment they deserve.
