A small dog, his stomach marred by a wound, found himself in a precarious situation. Thankfully, someone alerted the Kokkachi Shelter, and a team of dedicated volunteers sprang into action.

Reaching the dog, however, proved more difficult than expected. He had taken refuge inside a cave, and the volunteers arrived without the necessary equipment to capture him. They raced back to the shelter, gathering cloth, milk, and a bag. Unfortunately, by the time they returned, the dog had retreated further into the cave’s depths.
Undeterred, the team devised a plan. Leaving a bowl of milk outside the cave, they waited patiently for hours. The cave entrance was then strategically blocked with wooden blocks, hoping to prevent the dog from going back in. Their patience paid off. After what felt like an eternity, the dog emerged, lured by the enticing scent of milk. Swiftly, the volunteers wrapped him in a towel and secured him safely in a bag.
The next hurdle awaited them: finding veterinary care. It was a holiday, and all the regular clinics were closed. But hope remained. Their persistence led them to Dr. Shihabudheen, a kind veterinarian who, touched by the dog’s plight, offered his services free of charge.

The dog, now named a part of the “Kokkachi clan,” was brought to the shelter for recovery. His resilience shone through; his recovery was swift, and his playful energy soon filled the shelter. His beautiful eyes captivated everyone, and it wasn’t long before the entire staff fell in love with him.

Despite the joy he brought to the shelter, the ideal outcome remained – a loving, forever home. The dog, now healthy and brimming with life, thrived on the companionship of his human friends at the shelter. Yet, a permanent family, one where he could shower with love and receive the same in return, was still a dream waiting to be fulfilled.
