Fate intervened when a group of volunteers from Trenton Animals Rock spotted Ariel crawling towards them on the street. A veterinary examination revealed a birth defect called focamelia, a result of the mother ingesting toxins during pregnancy. Though limitations arose due to her small size, tests confirmed healthy lungs and a heart. Despite the challenges, Ariel’s spirit remained unbroken. Each day, she blossomed, mastering the art of being a dog, forging friendships with her fellow shelter residents, and stealing the hearts of everyone around her.
