This sweet pup had been surrendered to the shelter due to his owner’s health struggles. Sadly, understaffed shelters can struggle to provide specialized care. Confined to a kennel, the dog’s skin condition worsened by the day. Witnessing his plight, Chrissy knew she had to step in and help.

He was diagnosed with a demodex infection and promptly renamed “Piggy,” a fitting name for his adorable, piglet-like features. Following his diagnosis, Piggy was placed in a foster home run by Forgotten, Now Family Rescue. There, he received loving care and twice-weekly medicated baths to combat his infection. Within a month, Piggy’s transformation was remarkable. Patches of fur began to reappear on his body, head, and limbs. More importantly, his spirit mirrored his physical recovery. The once-depressed dog blossomed into a happy, playful pup, showering everyone with affection and boundless energy.
