Indeed man’s best friend, the unconditional love and companionship that comes from a dog, is unmatched by any other animal. However, not all dogs in this world experience that same love back.

This was true for Bella, a dog that had spent most of her life in an overly crowded shelter in Romania. The poor dog was not receiving nearly enough attention, food, water, or daily activity.

This poor dog had a lifetime of struggles living in the shelter, but this would all change soon. When the rescue, Howl of a Dog, showed up at the pound, they knew that this dog was special.

Taking Bella into their rescue shelter, much work needed to be done to properly acclimate her. Bella was more than willing to cooperate, understanding that she was finally rescued.

After being groomed, receiving all of her necessary medication, and socializing with the other dogs, Bella’s life of hardship was quickly changing. To no one’s surprise, she was adopted from the rescue soon.

Finding her forever home with a family in Germany, the 6-year-old dog has wholly changed circumstances. Being able to play and give love, Bella lives a dog’s best life.

Heart-touching stories like these are great examples of the little we can do as humans to better the lives of animals that make a living so much more fun for us. Bella’s story is just one of many.
