As a groomer, Kari Falla is used to dealing with snarly fur and untrimmed claws. But when she came across a particular post on Facebook about a stray dog, she saw just how desperate he was.
Offering to take him in and groom him, Kari noted that after a good wash and cut, he would have a better chance of getting adopted or finding his original owners.
Kari reached out to the woman who posted about the dog โ it was already 10:30 p.m. at that point, but she didnโt bat an eye at possibly working through the night.
She wrote updates on Facebook saying, โhe couldnโt even walkโ when he arrived at the groomer. โHe was carried in. His hair was so matted they became casts all over his body.โ
It was obvious that he was in so much pain, but as she began carefully removing the mats, the sweet boyโs personality emerged.
โOnce we shaved him, he was wagging his tail and was so happy. I knew I did the right thing.โ The pup was later named Lucky, and itโs pretty clear that he was just that.
After Lucky was shaved, he got the first bath heโd probably received in years.
But boy, what a difference a good haircut can make. It was later determined that Lucky is also deaf and blind, which makes the story even more miraculous.333
