Being away from loved ones for extended periods of time is difficult, especially for military families. While the impact on soldiers and their families is well-known, people often overlook the effect it may have on their furry companions. For Troy Glendenning, a U.S. Army E4 Specialist, being away from his beloved dog, Posie, for eight months was hard on both of them.
Posie had been eagerly awaiting her human’s return, unaware of when he would be coming home. However, when Troy surprised her by showing up, her reaction was nothing short of heartwarming. As soon as she caught sight of him, she ran towards him, leaping into his arms and showering him with affection.
Troy and Posie’s bond began during the COVID quarantine, and it’s clear from their reunion how close they have become. They plan to make up for lost time by spending every moment together.
It’s important to remember that while military service members are away, their pets miss them too. Dogs like Posie don’t understand why their owners are gone or when they will return, but they feel the absence deeply. Troy and Posie’s reunion serves as a reminder of the importance of the bonds between humans and their furry companions.
